The Toronto Blue Jays continue treading water and making up a few games just to drop the next few. In their last 10 contests, they've got a 5-5 record and remain 14 games out of first place in the AL East and 11 out of a Wild Card spot. Wednesday's series against the Reds will give them another shot at securing a series victory over the NL Central hopefuls.

Probable starting pitchers

  • Taking the mound for the 14th time this season will be rookie right-hander Yariel Rodriguez. The 27-year-old has been a bit inconsistent at times this year, but he's gone at least five innings in three of his last five starts and is only one outing removed from a 5.2 inning, one-run showing against the Oakland A's. All told, he is 1-5 with a 3.93 ERA and 103 ERA+ in 55 innings this season.
  • The Reds will be sending swingman extraordinaire Nick Martinez to the mound to make his 35th appearance and ninth start of the season. The seven-year veteran is a jack of all trades on the Reds' pitching staff, frequently switching between multi-inning relief option and a starter who can go seven innings at a time. In his last start, he went six innings of three-run ball against the Royals. He's 6-6 this year with a 3.25 ERA and 131 ERA+ in 97 innings of work.
