Fresh off of a much-needed victory over the Cincinnati Reds, the Toronto Blue Jays enter the day aiming to take two out of three against Ohio's finest. After missing a few games with ankle soreness, George Springer is returning to the Jays' lineup while one of yesterday's heroes, Davis Schneider, will return to the bench.

Probable starting pitchers

  • The Blue Jays are set to send left-hander Hyun Jin Ryu to the mound to make his fourth start post-Tommy John surgery. The 36-year-old has quietly been a solid addition to the Jays pitching staff, surrendering two runs or less in each of his last two outings while consistenlty doing a great job of keeping his ballclub in the game. The 10-year big league veteran is 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA to kick off his 2023 campaign.
  • For the Reds, newly-activated Hunter Greene is going to take the mound for the first time since mid-June. Greene, 24, has turned himself into the staff ace for the Reds and was just beginning to show his true colors off when he went down with an injury. On the season, the right-hander is 2-4 with a 3.93 ERA, 3.57 FIP and 118 ERA+ in 14 starts and just over 73 innings of work.
