Toronto Blue Jays probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Chicago White Sox, July 4
At 45-40, the Toronto Blue Jays are set to take on the struggling Chicago White Sox and can hopefully right the ship on 2023 before it's too late. Naturally, the Blue Jays have struggled mightily against AL East divisions but dominated against all teams outside of the division, so beating up on the White Sox should be all but guaranteed at this point. Let's hope.
Probable starting pitchers
- Right-hander Chris Bassitt is set to make his 18th start of the season for the Blue Jays. So far, the 34-year-old has experienced many ups and downs. In 99.2 innings, he has posted an 8-5 record, 4.06 ERA, 4.84 FIP and 101 ERA+. In his last start against the Giants, Bassitt casually went six shutout innings while striking out 12 batters. Another start like that is much needed for the Jays.
- For the White Sox, right-hander Lucas Giolito is preparing to make his 18th start of the season as well. One of the top trade chips in the league, the 28-year-old has been putting together a solid year for the Sox and is doing an excellent job of boosting his value. In 99.1 innings of work, Giolito is 6-5 with a 3.53 ERA, 4.24 FIP and 124 ERA+.
