Toronto Blue Jays probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Chicago White Sox, April 25
While Monday night's game was yet another come-from-behind victory for the Toronto Blue Jays, the club was locked in against the White Sox and came out on top in 5-2 fashion. Chris Bassitt threw a(nother) gem, Cavan Biggio (of all people) homered and the bullpen shut it down. The Jays look to continue to beat up on the 7-16 Sox in Tuesday evening's contest.
Probable starting pitchers
- José Berríos will take the mound for the Blue Jays and will aim to continue the club's impressive stretch of quality starts. The 28-year-old is coming off of easily the best outing of his 2023 season in which he went seven innings and allowed just two earned runs on three hits. Berríos has some extra eyes on him this year since he is playing out a massive contract extension, but if he's able to replicate the successes from his last start, he'll be good to go.
- Controversial righty Mike Clevinger will make his fifth start of 2023 opposite Berríos in tonight's contest. The 32-year-old has a 3.26 ERA in 19.1 innings but has already walked 11 batters against just 15 strikeouts. His 140 ERA+ has been one of the few bright spots on the White Sox so far to start the year.
