Sitting in third place in the AL East at 13-9, the Toronto Blue Jays are set to host the Chicago White Sox at home for a three-game series. The Blue Jays have been riding some hot performances from their starting rotation and will look to continue that trend this evening against the 7-15 White Sox.

Tonight's game will feature the Jordan Romano & Danny Jansen handshake bobblehead.

Probable starting pitchers

  • 34-year-old Chris Bassitt will make the fifth start of his 2023 season. After a disastrous start against the Cardinals at the beginning of the month, he has come back down to earth and seen himself excel on the mound. In each of his last three starts, the right-hander has gone at least six innings, highlighted by a 6.1 inning shutout performance against the Astros last week. Overall, he is 2-2 with a 5.40 ERA in 21.2 innings and will look to lower that ERA against the team he broke into the league with back in 2014.
  • On the other side of the pitching matchup is 35-year-old Lance Lynn. Lynn, a 12-year veteran, has quietly been a solid starting pitcher over the years but is off to a dreadful start in 2023. Across four starts and 21.1 innings, the big righty has a 7.59 ERA thanks to 18 earned runs on 29 hits, including six home runs allowed. His strikeouts are still high, but he's been allowing entirely too many baserunners in the early goings.
