Coming off of a heartbreaker in which the Blue Jays lost to the Red Sox in 6-5 fashion, the boys in blue are looking for a rebound with a reborn Yusei Kikuchi on the bump. Bo Bichette led the offense on Monday, going 5-for-5 along the way while Nate Pearson threw two shutout innings with three strikeouts. Every team is going to lose games, no matter how solid they are, but this Red Sox team still looks like one that's awfully beatable for these Jays (knock on wood).

Probable starting pitchers

  • Yusei Kikuchi has begun his 2023 season with an extremely strong string of starts. In five outings, he has a 4-0 record with a 3.00 ERA and 146 ERA+, striking out 28 and walking six in 27 innings. He has looked like a whole new version of himself to begin this year, which is a most welcomed development after how badly he struggled in 2022.
  • 26-year-old Tanner Houck is set to make the sixth start of his 2023 campaign as well. The starter-turned-reliever-turned-starter has fared well so far, but he's been walking a lot of batters and doesn't do very well with keeping the bases empty. The Blue Jays, who have done an incredible job of playing small ball and hitting bloop singles, should be sitting pretty (knock on wood ... again).
