Toronto Blue Jays probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Baltimore Orioles, May 19
Following an embarrassing beating at the hands of the New York Yankees, the Toronto Blue Jays are set to take on the second-place Baltimore Orioles for the first of a three-game set at home. This year's Orioles are no joke, sitting at 25-19 and riding the standout performances from the vast majority of their every day starting lineup.
Probable starting pitchers
- For the Blue Jays, left-hander Yusei Kikuchi is set to make his ninth start of the season. So far, things have gone relatively well for him as he as a 3.89 ERA and 109 ERA+ across 41.2 innings of work. His 5-0 win-loss record is a bit deceiving, though, as he has been allowing entirely too many home runs this season. Facing a heavy-hitting Orioles lineup is once again going to serve as a major challenge for Kikuchi on the mound.
- The Orioles are set to send 11-year veteran Kyle Gibson out to make his 10th start of 2023. The right-hander has a 4.67 ERA, 4.39 FIP and 93 ERA+, which is nothing to write home about, but he's been better this year than he has for quite some time. The 35-year-old gives this extremely young Orioles team an experienced veteran presence to fill out their rotation and eat some innings.
