After another day off, the Toronto Blue Jays are set to host the Atlanta Braves for a three-game set at the Rogers Centre. This will mark the first of a 10-game homestand and will give Jays fans plenty of opportunity to see their team up close. This series will be a tough one for both clubs, as the 21-win Blue Jays and 25-win Braves have been some of the stronger teams in the league to kick off the 2023 season.

Probable starting pitchers

  • Chris Bassitt is set to make the eighth start of his 2023 season in tonight's matchup versus Atlanta. The 34-year-old is coming off of easily his best start of the year in which he went seven shutout innings against the Pirates with five strikeouts. Bassitt's season has been full of ups and downs already, but he remains one of the best pitchers in the league in limiting hard contact.
  • There is perhaps no better pitcher in the game right now than Bassitt's mound opponent, Spencer Strider. The 24-year-old has followed up an astounding rookie campaign with an equally as impressive sophomore one. In seven starts and 40 innings, he has a 2.70 ERA and a sparkling 1.81 FIP, leading the league in strikeouts along the way with 67 already.
