Winners of seven of their last eight ballgames, these Toronto Blue Jays are on a roll! Taking on the second-place Arizona Diamondbacks, the Jays have been doing an efficient job at putting up runs while keeping the always dangerous Dbacks off the board. After Chris Bassitt stepped in for an injured Kevin Gausman in Saturday's contest, the Jays are eyeing a three-game sweep today.
Probable starting pitchers
- For the Blue Jays, left-hander Yusei Kikuchi is gearing up to make his 19th start of the season. He has struck out at least six batters in five of his last seven starts and has continued to improve on a down year in 2022. So far this year, the 32-year-old is 7-3 with a 4.24 ERA and 99 ERA+ in 93.1 innings of work.
- The Diamondbacks are going to turn to a left-hander of their own in Tommy Henry. The 25-year-old has made 14 appearances (13 starts) this season and has been a solid contributor for this club. In 74.1 innings of work, Henry has posted a 5-1 record with a 3.75 ERA and 114 ERA+ and is coming off of one of his best outings of the year in which he threw six shutout innings against the Mets.
