Probable starting pitchers

  • Yusei Kikuchi is gearing up to make his 15th start of the 2023 campaign. The left-hander has been fairly consistent this season in that he generally does a solid job of keeping the Blue Jays in the game when he's on the mound. While home runs have been an issue for him (he leads the majors with 19 HR allowed), he has statistically turned a significant corner after struggling for the entirety of the 2022 season. So far this year, the 32-year-old is 6-2 with a 4.31 ERA and an ERA+ of 95.
  • For the Marlins, one of the more intriguing prospects in the game, Eury Pérez, is set to make his eighth start of the year and his career. The 20-year-old has been shockingly good to start his first tenure in the big leagues, striking out over nine batters per nine innings while allowing just four home run in 35 innings. All told, Pérez is 4-1 with a 1.80 ERA, 3.91 FIP and 246 ERA+ through seven outings this season. His solid start tells a huge story and makes one thing clear: he's going to be a problem as he develops as a big leaguer.
