When the Toronto Blue Jays failed to win the Shohei Ohtani sweepstakes back in December, it hit the organization and followers of the team really hard. It wasn’t just because they had missed out big time on a generational two-way talent. It was the fact that many had actually thought Ohtani had chosen the Blue Jays and was on a private jet heading to Toronto to make the free agent signing official. For a second, we were all on top of the world.

However, that did not end up materializing and the Jays have been left to scramble for potential secondary options for the rest of the offseason.

Well, just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, this was recently spotted on sale with regards to Ohtani merchandise and memorabilia. It's hard to believe that this is even real.

If the sight of seeing Ohtani littered with Los Angeles Dodgers gear wasn’t bad enough, just to add insult to injury, this shirt mocking the imaginary flight of Ohtani from Santa Ana to Toronto will certainly be a bitter pill to swallow for Jays’ fans everywhere. On the t-shirt was showing the N616RH private jet flight from Santa Ana, California (SNA) to Toronto, Canada (YYZ), just to make sure the moment was literally imprinted into Jays’ history in the process. And in case those don’t have the chance to buy this exclusive item in person, it can also be found currently on sale online at a retail price of US$22.99.

At least since the whole Ohtani debacle, the Jays have moved on to make some key signings in Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Kevin Kiermaier, and the Cuban sensation Yariel Rodríguez to help soften the blow a bit. Nevertheless, just reliving the moment of Ohtani’s failed signing in any form or way will sure bring nightmares once again for the Jays’ faithful and organization.
