For the past few seasons, Santiago Espinal and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. have been mainstays in the Toronto Blue Jays infield. Espinal bounces around all over the infield while Guerrero has turned himself into an excellent first baseman.
The two are friends, and they recently took part in a brand new venture to both of them: starring in a music video. Of course, it's not just any music video, but the newest one in Eladio Carrión's library. The song is titled 'Si Salimos' and features iconic rapper 50 Cent on the track.
For the full video, check it out here. Espinal and Guerrero can be seen starting around the 2:00 mark and are featured here and there throughout the remainder of the video.
Recently, Lindsay Dunn of CityNews Toronto and Sportsnet caught up with Espinal and asked him about the experience and how he felt before, during, and after the video shoot.
When asked about how this all came together, Espinal responds by saying, "It was through my agency. There are a couple of singers on my agency and they said 'hey now that you're in New York , we're going to be doing a music video and we'd like you and Vlad to be a part of it'."
His response? "I said, you don't have to tell me twice!", he laughs. "We got there in New York and it was unreal. I never in my life thought I'd do a music video until that day happened. Before the video, I told the guys that I was going to be nervous. I'm going to do it, but I'm nervous." Dunn asked him if he nailed his parts in one take and he admits that it took about five, which is a pretty low number for somebody participating in his first ever video.
