Entering the 2023-2024 offseason, the Toronto Blue Jays had six of their players from last year's roster hit free agency. This list includes Matt Chapman, Whit Merrifield, Kevin Kiermaier, Brandon Belt, Jordan Hicks and Hyun Jin Ryu. In addition, the Jays had also recently non-tendered reliever Adam Cimber after a disastrous season in which he struggled with inconsistency and injuries. As a result, he joined the others in the free agent market as well.

But surprisingly in the latest news, Cimber is the first among the group to sign with a new ballclub despite his mediocre 2023 season. The Los Angeles Angels inked the veteran reliever to a one-year, $1.65M contract for the upcoming season. He will join the recently-signed Luis Garcia and Adam Kolarek as part of the revamped Angels bullpen that the team hopes can bring them back into contention status for 2024.

On the other hand, the fate of the other Jays free agents are yet to be known despite the abundance of rumours swirling around in recent weeks. Although the Jays’ faithful may want to have some of their favourites re-signed by the ballclub, it is more than likely that not all, or if any, will be returning to the ballclub for the 2024 MLB season. In that case, where could be their potential landing spots?

Here, we will make some bold predictions on where each of the remaining Blue Jays free agents will sign this offseason. For the sake of this article, only one ultimate destination will be included for each free agent as part of the prediction despite the player having potentially multiple suitors.

First up, Matt Chapman.
