It's going to be a sprint to the finish for both the Arizona Diamondbacks and Toronto Blue Jays as they head into the second half of the MLB season.

Both teams are currently sitting in a wild card spot in their respective leagues, but they can ill afford to get cold at any point during the next couple of months.

The Blue Jays took Game 1 of this interleague series on Thursday night, so how should we handle betting on Game 2 on Saturday?

Well, let's dive into it.

Diamondbacks vs. Blue Jays odds, run line, and total

Diamondbacks vs. Blue Jays prediction and pick

I'm surprised the total for this game is as high as it is with two dominant pitchers taking the mound on Saturday.

Zac Gallen (3.04 ERA) is the current betting favorite to win the NL Cy Young award and Kevin Gausman (3.03 ERA) is second on the odds list to win the AL Cy Young award. So, with two Cy Young candidates facing off against each other, is there any other way we can bet on this other than the UNDER?

I don't think so.

Not only does the game feature two fantastic pitchers, but both offenses have been cold, by their standards, over the past month of action. In fact, over the last 30 days they rank 18th and 21st in OPS. Those numbers aren't nearly as good as they had been prior.

So, let's not overthink this bet. It's time to back both pitchers to have strong performances and for the total of this game to stay UNDER 8.5 runs.
