Blue Jays unveil the 2023 promotional giveaway schedule
Mark your calendars and open your wallets, because the Blue Jays' 2023 promotional schedule is finally here.
The Blue Jays released a video featuring manager John Schneider and General Manager Ross Atkins last week teasing the release of the schedule while also poking fun at new coach Don Mattingly’s sideburns. On Sunday, as the Blue Jays were in Dunedin to take on the New York Yankees in their second Spring Training game, the promotions for the upcoming season were unveiled.
First on the schedule is a Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Gold Glove bobblehead on April 12 when the Blue Jays play the Detroit Tigers in their second home game of the season. Guerrero was featured on two bobbleheads last season, a “Vlad & Dad” bobblehead he shared with his Hall of Fame father last July and a “Victory Vlad” bobblehead in August. This one celebrates his historic 2022 season when Guerrero became the first Blue Jays first baseman to win an AL Gold Glove Award.
Closer Jordan Romano and his batterymate Danny Jansen will share a bobblehead on April 24, both players in their now-familiar ritual of celebrating Romano holding down a save. The April 28 rematch against the Seattle Mariners, who eliminated the Blue Jays from the playoffs in tragic fashion last October, takes on added significance with a George Springer “New Blue” jersey giveaway.
Kevin Gausman, entering his second year with the Blue Jays, gets his recognition on June 28 in a game against the San Francisco Giants. Gausman’s key pitch is his devastating splitter, and his jersey that will be given away is split right down the middle, one-half white and the other blue. Guerrero gets his own jersey giveaway day on Aug. 16 against the defending National League champion Philadelphia Phillies.
Finally, fans attending the Sept. 15 game against the Boston Red Sox will receive a José Berríos bobblehead. Berríos, who joined the Blue Jays at the 2021 trade deadline, was previously featured in a jersey giveaway last May 16.
All 2023 giveaway days are weekday 7:07 p.m. ET starts. The first 15,000 fans who come through the turnstiles at the Rogers Centre will receive one upon their entry into the stadium. Further promotional days will be announced on Tuesday.
So grab your tickets now. Opening Day in Toronto is just 44 days away.
