Blue Jays Triple-A affiliate set to host annual Star Wars Night
On Saturday, May 25, the Buffalo Bisons, Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, are set to host their annual Star Wars Night. Presented by Alfred State College, the Bisons will take on the St. Paul Saints (Twins) and will have a slew of Star Wars-related fun before and after first pitch.
As per the event page from Minor League Baseball, fans in attendance will have the opportunity to purchase a commemorative Laser Sword (why do people still call lightsabers "laser swords"?), with all proceeds going to the Compass House, a youth shelter.
The players themselves will be wearing some slick Mandalorian jerseys, which feature Mando holding Grogu. The uniforms will be also be autographed by the players and available during an in-game Jersey Raffle and a Jersey Auction on Bisons.com after the game concludes. Additionally, adult and youth sizes will be available for purchase eventually, but preorder dates have yet to be officially announced.
Last year, the Bisons rocked a sweet Ewok jersey, with Darth Vader the year before and Boba Fett the year before that. Other popular ones in the past include a Jedi robe one, R2-D2, Jabba the Hutt and one with a TIE Fighter on it.
