With the 2024 baseball season coming up, the Toronto Blue Jays have published a brand new video centering around the Rogers Centre renovations. The Jays' home opener is slated to be on April 8th against the Seattle Mariners, giving the ballpark roughly three more weeks to be ready.

The first phase of renovations began in late October of 2022, adding more vibrant color to the park, making it seem less industrial. Now for the upcoming season, President and CEO of the Blue Jays Mark Shapiro is committed to building further on the developments for Rogers Centre. According to Shapiro, these renovations were put in placed with the goal to "convert a stadium to a ballpark."

Some of the key changes happening during this round of expansion include replacing all the chairs in the 100- and 200- level with larger seats, along with primo tickets for VIP events that help encapsulate the feeling of Toronto. The front office is set on making the home ballpark more authentic to watch baseball, and enjoy their time at the diamond.

It's encouraging to see the Jays make an active effort to improve the stadium, as it's been ranked as one of the lower ballparks in MLB. Sports Illustrated had placed Rogers Centre 27th out of 30 stadiums, meaning that there is still a lot of room for improvement. There has been a significant amount of investment into the enhanced park, with over $300M going into both stages of renovations.

Despite the modifications, Rogers Centre still has its own innate charm to Toronto locals, being easily accessible in the heart of the city. It still has a retractable roof, which allows for both options of either keeping the roof open on a beautiful sunny day to make the experience more immersive, or closing the roof in the event of poor weather conditions.

The newly released video surrounding the transformation of the field will bring more excitement to Jays fans, as it signifies a new era of Blue Jays baseball being underway. Attending a live baseball game is always an appealing experience, and the Blue Jays will be expecting their alterations to make Jays fans visits to the park much more memorable.
