Kevin Kiermaier may have finally gotten the World Series ring that he has strived for throughout his career, which was then followed by his subsequent retirement from Major League Baseball. However, despite all of that happening, he still hasn't forgotten about his time with the Toronto Blue Jays.

In fact, despite his short one-and-a-half-year stay in Toronto, apparently, the Jays and their loyal fans actually meant a lot more to the former MLB outfielder than most think. As an unbelievable gesture of gratitude to the entire city and especially the fanbase, Kiermaier posted a heartwarming video to express what the Jays and their faithful meant to him.

Kevin Kiermaier pours his heart out to Blue Jays fans

In the video, Kiermaier highlighted how he enjoyed his 14-year journey in MLB and clearly indicated that his time in Toronto was a significant part of it. In particular, he focused on thanking the Blue Jays fans for their sincere reciprocal love and how they respectfully treated him during his whole time with the organization. Kiermaier was truly appreciative that the fans recognized his all-out effort in his play every day despite not even being the best player on the team.

“Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for the way you treated me and my family," Kiermaier said. "What an honor, what a privilege.”

Capturing a Gold Glove along with being a surprising offensive spark in the bottom of the lineup with the Jays in 2023, things didn’t end up going as smoothly for Kiermaier in his second season with the club. As he struggled to produce offensively for much of the 2024 season, the Jays also endured struggles as a team as well.

As a result, Kiermaier ended up being dealt at the trade deadline to the Los Angeles Dodgers to ultimately fulfill his dream of winning a championship title, which came to fruition. Nevertheless, his impact with Toronto will still be remembered as he finished with a .240 average and .673 OPS, along with 82 runs scored, 28 doubles, eight triples, 12 home runs, 54 RBI and 19 stolen bases in 211 career games with the Jays.

He also hinted his time with the Jays might not actually be completely over just yet.

“I don’t want this relationship to end with the Jays. So I got a lot more to offer. I don’t know what that means just yet, but I can’t wait to be back in the Rogers Centre. Whatever way I can help the Blue Jays, I’m going to do it, “ Kiermaier said.

Will he be back in the capacity of a potential coaching role or maybe even a front office position to help the club? Whatever Kiermaier ends up doing, there’s no doubt the Jays and their fans will be overjoyed to have him return to the organization once again. As for now, we wish Kiermaier all the best in his retirement as a player, while anxiously look forward to whatever transpires for him and the Jays for the next chapter of his career.
