With the Trade Deadline just days away, the Toronto Blue Jays have already been active, making their first move by landing right-handed reliever Seranthony Dominguez from the Orioles in exchange for pitching prospect Juaron Watts-Brown. This comes after missing out on an opportunity earlier in the week.

While we wait for more trades to unfold, let's examine a mock trade from FanGraphs that would seriously put this organization in a positive direction. This trade they proposed would give Toronto a boost heading into the playoffs, while not giving up prospects that would impact the futue of this organization.

FanGraphs proposes a can't turn down trade for the Blue Jays and Marlins ahead of the MLB Trade Deadline.

This trade is all about getting Marlins' starter Edward Cabrera to Toronto. The Blue Jays need to add a starting pitcher with upside to be a top of the line starter. Cabrera has the upside Toronto needs for a postseason push, posting a 3.35 ERA with a 3.67 FIP and a 9.19 K/9. The big thing for him this season that has made him a top trade chip has been his low BB/9 of 3.16. That is the lowest it has been in his career.

There are a lot of teams with interest in Cabrera, so for Toronto to land him, they need a strong package. Headling this return from FanGraphs is outfield prospect Alan Roden. He has done great in the minor leagues with not striking out and having great swing to getting hits. His power is sneaky too, slugging 16 last season. He has yet to translate it in the big leauges, but he hasn't been giving a legitimate chance either.

With him is regressing prospect Orelvis Martinez. He was formally a top three prospect in the organization, but now he has fallen to ninth and if his bat doesn't wake up, he could fall even further. His wRC+ on the season is down to 76, with a poor 27.6% strikeout rate and .660 OPS.

Concluding the deal is Yohendrick Pinango, the Blue Jays eighth ranked prospect per MLB Pipeline. The outfielder is having a solid year, displaying power and solid hit tools. His wRC+ is up to 136 with a .838 OPS and a 21.1% strikeout rate.

Pinango and Roden would both hurt the farm system, while finding a way to get rid of Martinez would be ideal. Their outfield is blocking the two prospects off anyways, so if this can be used to help the pitching staff, it would be a major win.
