The Toronto Blue Jays sent a number of star representatives to the World Baseball Classic this year. Thus far, most have impressed, with a select few Blue Jays really standing out in pool play.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has only played in two games for the Dominican Republic thus far, but he's doing Vladdy-esque things with a 1.208 OPS and six RBIs. Ernie Clement is also off to a roaring start with Team USA, posting a .600 on-base percentage for the undefeated leaders of Pool B.

Alejandro Kirk is also off to a strong start, slugging .636 with a home run over Mexico's first three games as they look to escape Pool B. No matter how you slice it, it's been a fantastic start to the WBC for most Blue Jays players.

Blue Jays poised to send numerous players to quarterfinals of 2026 World Baseball Classic

Pending Mexico's result against Team Italy on Wednesday (Mar. 11), each of the three players above have secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the WBC. If Kirk and Mexico can beat Italy, they'll join Clement and the United States as the Pool B representatives in the final eight. There are a plethora of other Blue Jays players that figure to feature prominently in the final rounds of the tournament.

Kazuma Okamoto is actually struggling for undefeated Japan, hitting just .133/.278/.200 through four round-robin games. Still, he's got an impressive WBC track record and will be a key part of Japan's title defence. They are overwhelming favorites to emerge from Pool C's quarterfinals matchup.

Team Venezuela is also undefeated (3-0) to this point, and Andrés Giménez is making key contributions as the starting shortstop in the field, even if his offense (.629 OPS) is leaving something to be desired. He's only played in a pair of games to this point because of a hit-by-pitch scare, but he avoided a worst-case scenario and any major injuries. He joins Guerrero and the DR in the quarterfinals, with both teams already having emerged as the class of Pool D.

While World Baseball Classic stats don't carry over into the regular season, it's promising that so many Blue Jays stars are performing so well on the international stage. With so many also playing on undefeated or quarterfinals-qualifying teams, there's an exceedingly good chance that Toronto fans will get a finals matchup that pits at least two members of the roster against each other.
