Fans of the Toronto Blue Jays received unfortunate news on Monday evening when manager John Schneider told reporters that Bo Bichette flew to Dallas to receive a second opinion on his left knee sprain.
Bo Bichette is in Dallas right now getting a second opinion on his sprained left knee, said Blue Jays manager John Schneider.

"That'll help, kind of formulate a timeline for him going forward," he said, adding that injury is to PCL and appointment is a "natural follow up."
Bichette was placed on the 10-day injured list back on September 9th after sliding into New York Yankees' catcher Austin Wells in the top of the sixth inning on September 7th. The shortstop would return to the game after a lengthy rain delay before being placed on the IL.

“He’s in the best spirits that he can be. We’re just doing our due diligence,” Schneider said, per MLB's Keegan Matheson. “He was feeling probably better than what an MRI showed, so I think that getting through this appointment will give more clarity to him and to us. Hopefully, it’s good news and we can say, ‘OK, here’s what we’re going to do.’”
While fans are hopeful for a quick recovery, it was infielder Isaiah Kiner-Falefa on the Deep Left Field podcast Sunday night that may have hinted Bichette's injury is worse than fans feared.

"We're going to try to get the job done for [Bichette], give him a chance to get healthy. Hopefully, we're playing long enough where he can try to make a comeback later in the postseason," said Kinfer-Falefa. While there's been no confirmation on the severity of the injury other than the second opinion, it raises some eyebrows with the postseason on the horizon.
Bichette has had a breakout year following an injury-ridden 2024 season. He's emerged as one of the league's best hitters with a batting average of .311 and leads all of MLB with 181 hits. Bichette has also hit 18 home runs with 94 RBIs and an OPS of .840. The Blue Jays have used a combination of Andrés Giménez and Ernie Clement at short stop in his absence.
