The Toronto Blue Jays may not have had the season their fans had envisioned in 2026. Coming off a World Series run in which the Blue Jays were within a couple of outs of winning it all, many were expecting the team to, at least, return to the postseason.
Even though the Blue Jays didn’t reach their goal, that didn’t stop fans from showing their full support. They filled the stands through all the ups and downs in 2026.
Among the 81 home games on the Blue Jays’ schedule 61 of them were record as sellouts, as per Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet. In total, the Blue Jays had 3,338,878 fans in attendance at Rogers Centre over the course of the 2026 season.
Sure, it isn’t the 4 million plus that they were drawing regularly back in the championship years in the early 1990s. But considering the massive renovations at Rogers Centre that removed many seats and replaced them with specialized “districts” and other spaces, 3.3 million actually is quite impressive in itself.
And to show how loyal the Toronto fans were, take a look at the scene below. The Blue Jays were already eliminated from contention when they hosted the Cincinnati Reds in their final home stand of the season. But Rogers Centre was still completely packed. The Blue Jays faithful wanted to give their beloved team a heartfelt send off as they concluded the season.
Blue Jays are eliminated from contention. Reds in town. And Rogers Centre is completely packed.

The Blue Jays need to spend the offseason keeping fans engaged and anticipating the 2027 season
It is time for the Blue Jays to reward their loyal fans in 2027. Of course, in a perfect world that means lowering ticket prices and bringing down the money forked over at the concession stands for a single slice of pizza. But the next best thing would be if the front office puts together another sustainable winning product on the field.
It may take another big offseason by Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins and his management team to ensure that it comes to fruition. There are some obvious starting points. Landing a big name outfielder would get things rolling. Toronto is already being named to Chicago Cubs free agent Seiya Suzuki.
President and CEO Mark Shapiro has also been public about the Blue Jays desire to have a continued presence in Japan. There are three big names being posted this year from Nippon Professional Baseball and while any of the three would be a big splash, landing Teruaki Sato could be massive to revitalize their lineup.
No matter how they go about it, the best way to help the fans forget about the Blue Jays’ disappointing 2026 campaign is to have a memorable 2027.
