The final game before the All-Star Break for the Toronto Blue Jays didn't go as planned, suffering a 6-3 loss to the Athletics. Despite losing the three-game series, it was what happened in the top of the fifth inning that caught the attention of the baseball world.

Blue Jays' Davis Schneider was up to bat when he crushed a towering shot to left field that soared over the foul pole. After further review, the call stood as a foul ball, and that's when chaos ensued.

Manager John Schneider came out of the dugout to argue the call and walked past the home plate umpire, Tripp Gibson, to confront third base umpire Brian Walsh before being restrained. The Blue Jays' skipper immediately got the hook by Gibson and unleashed an early nomination for "ejection of the year."

John ultimately made the long walk to the visitors' clubhouse in left field before Davis pulled the Blue Jays' biggest "ball don't lie" moment so far in 2025 on the next pitch.

Davis' very fair and sure-fire shot to left-center field was his fifth homer of the year and put the Blue Jays on the board. After the game, Davis commented on the umpires' decision on the foul ball and shared his praise for his manager.

"I thought it was fair, but the umpires aren't trying to get us or anything like that," Schneider said to the media following the game. "I don't know what angle [the umpires] were looking at. I wish they had higher foul poles, but it is what it is.

"I really appreciate him coming out and having my back there," Davis said of manager John. "That's why he's a great manager. He protects his players. He wanted some of that from the umpire, but that's alright. It kind of pumped me up for a little bit."

Fans had a lot to say on social media followed the double-Schneider excitement as the All-Star break gets underway with a bang.
