The Toronto Blue Jays have made some solid moves to bolster their roster this offseason. But the Blue Jays certainly know that they must have actually done some phenomenal work when a division rival’s star picks up on it as well.
New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge recently vented his frustrations this past week on how his team has handled the offseason so far, courtesy of SNY. Judge was particularly disappointed with the extremely slow start to the Yankees offseason when hardly anything was happening.
Blue Jays division rival star frustrated with how his team has handled the offseason
"I was like, we're the New York Yankees. Let's go out there and get the right people, get the right pieces to finish this thing off."

Aaron Judge says it was frustrating not seeing the Yankees make any big moves early in the offseason.

“It was brutal. I see a lot of free agents out there … I see a lot of guys … the Bellingers, Grishams and Goldschmidts … let’s sign these guys right now and start adding more pieces because I’m seeing other teams around the league get better as they’re making trades, they’re signing big prospects or big players and we’re sitting there for awhile, making smaller moves … It was tough there at the beginning,” explained Judge.
It was tough to bear for Judge alright as the Blue Jays were likely one of the main teams he was referring to. That was because Toronto had made big splashes with Dylan Cease, Cody Ponce, and later on Tyler Rogers. To add salt onto the wound, this was also the team that eliminated the Yankees from playoff contention last year in just four games. So to see them making moves to get better would have been frustrating for the current Yankees to watch. Not to mention that the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles have made huge moves as well.
But as New York began to make some key signings of their own, it made Judge feel better … just a bit.
“Once we solidified getting Bellinger back, we got Trent (Grisham) being our centre fielder be our leadoff guy for another year … then you got a guy like Goldy (Goldschmidt) back and the bullpen pieces we have been doing … I think we’re in a good spot. But early on, it was pretty tough to watch. I was like, we’re the New York Yankees. Let’s go out there and get the right people, get the right pieces to finish this thing off,” Judge said.
When asked once again if he expressed any of his frustrations to Yankees management, Judge politely turned his head and said “yeah, oh yeah”, letting New York know how he really felt deep inside. But at least he appeared to be in slightly better spirits with Bellinger and others back.
Judge may be happy with how the Yankees offseason ended, even if they are basically running it back with the same team that failed to advance past the ALDS. And now with Toronto having made significant adds this offseason to further improve the squad, it may sound more like Judge is just trying to say the right things to keep the team's spirit's up.
Nevertheless, the much-improved Blue Jays will be ready for Judge and the Yankees once again in 2026, as they hope to keep the Bronx star frustrated in another battle for AL supremacy and for the World Series title this upcoming season.
