As one of the key deadline pickups in 2023, Jays fan will remember Cabrera as being a huge difference down the stretch that year when he went 1-0 with a tidy 2.66 ERA with six walks and 20 strikeouts in 23 2/3 innings.

That strong showing helped Toronto reach the postseason for the second consecutive year.

However, Cabrera would lost most of that luster in 2024 as he struggled to a 3-3 record with a 3.59 ERA in 62 2/3 innings of work. The Jays let him walk as a free agent after the season.

Cabrera landed with the New York Mets during the offseason on a minor league deal. He's made two appearances this spring and has hasn't allowed a run over two innings of work. He's also tallied four strikeouts. His spotless start to the spring has helped him move into the Mets' MLB bullpen picture as we get closer to Opening Day.
