With the 2025 MLB trade deadline almost upon us, the Toronto Blue Jays will be looking to make some deals before all is said and done. However, it’s one thing to just make a move or two that solidly supplements their current roster, but it is completely another thing to add some actual star-caliber players to significantly boost their chances at winning even more

As a result, let’s take a look at 3 MLB players that were All-Stars this year that could see themselves don the Blue Jays uniform following the 2025 trade deadline.

3 MLB All-Stars who could be Blue Jays after the 2025 trade deadline

Eugenio Suárez, Arizona Diamondbacks

With the Jays looking to potentially add a power bat to their lineup, there isn’t a better option in the trade market right now than Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suárez. Suárez is currently tied for fourth in the MLB in home runs and tied for first overall in RBIs. On the season, the 34-year-old slugger has posted a .247 average, a stellar .898 OPS, together with 64 runs scored, 18 doubles, 36 home runs and 87 RBIs in 104 games played.

There is no question recruiting a potent bat that could potentially be producing a 50-homer, 100+ RBI season would significantly impact the Jays’ offensive potential going forward. With Toronto already a revelation on offense this season, adding a true difference maker like Suárez could make this team unstoppable down the stretch. As a result, they shouldn’t let an injury scare from Monday night deter them from pursuing the big-time slugger.

Carlos Estévez, Kansas City Royals

Although Carlos Estévez does not have an expiring contract this season, he has apparently drawn interest from prospective teams, in particular the New York Yankees in recent days. But who wouldn’t be interested in the veteran 32-year-old reliever? After all, Estévez has been one of the top closers in the MLB this year for the Kansas City Royals.

In 45 relief appearances, the right-hander has compiled a 4-3 record with an AL-leading 27 saves, a solid 2.62 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, along with 37 strikeouts in 44 2/3 innings pitched. With the Jays in dire need of bullpen help, adding Estévez to the squad will enable him to form a one-two punch with Jeff Hoffman to close out ballgames for Toronto.

More importantly, it would be a double-win for the Jays as not only would it significantly boost their relief corps, it would also keep the Yankees from getting him to improve their bullpen as a result.

Robert Suarez, San Diego Padres

ESPN insider Jeff Passan indicated that the San Diego Padres could make their closer Robert Suarez available at the trade deadline. That is because he is expected to opt-out of his remaining two years (subscription required) of his current contract with the Padres after the conclusion of the 2025 MLB season, according to Jim Bowden of The Athletic.

If that is indeed the case, the Jays should be calling for the 34-year-old right-handed reliever. As the MLB leader in saves this season with 30, Suarez has made 45 appearances for San Diego so far in 2025, amassing a 3.38 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, along with 45 strikeouts in 42 2/3 innings pitched. More impressively, he has held his opponents to just one home run while walking only 12 all season.

With a career ERA of 3.00 and WHIP of 1.02 while having a lifetime ground ball rate of over 40%, this is exactly the bullpen piece that the Jays would need to take them to the next level. In addition, with the Padres in need of outfield help, especially left field, and with the Jays having a plethora of impactful outfielders, they could be the perfect trade partners at the deadline.
