Brought over to Toronto from the San Diego Padres at last year's trade deadline, Nance actually became a key cog for the Jays’ bullpen and appeared in over 20 games down the stretch. He might not have been lights out over that time, but he did manage to show some signs of brilliance during a six-game stretch between the end of August to early September.

Over that time, he held the opposition scoreless on just two hits and one walk with seven strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings of work. In the end, the 34-year-old reliever still posted a respectable 4.09 ERA and 1.23 WHIP with 19 strikeouts in 22 innings over the final two months of the season. 2024 with the Jays.

Nance entered the spring with a chance to secure a full-time spot in the Blue Jays' bullpen, but failed to capitalize on the opportunity.

He has compiled a less-than-stellar 5.06 ERA this spring while blowing two saves. In total, the right-handed reliever has given up three runs on a whopping nine hits with three walks and six strikeouts in just 5 1/3 innings of work.

That disappointing performance, combined with his lack of minor league options, could lead to the Jays looking to trade Nance this week as opposed to losing him for nothing.

While Nance has struggled in his career, his strikeout ability could make him an attractive trade chip, as he's struck out 106 batters in 94 1/3 career innings in the majors.
