Blue Jays: Tiedemann reportedly promoted to Double-A New Hampshire
Drafted by the Blue Jays in the third round of the 2021 MLB Draft, left-hander Ricky Tiedemann has been tearing up the Minor Leagues all season long. That excellence is being rewarded early, as TSN’s Scott Mitchell is reporting that the Jays’ top pitching prospect will be reporting to AA New Hampshire once the All-Star festivities are over.
He began the year in Single-A Dunedin and just absolutely dominated, allowing just six earned runs through six starts and 30.0 innings pitched. The California product held opponents to a .115 batting average and posted a 0.800 WHIP while striking out batters at a 14.7 K/9 clip, while also going three straight outings of five or more innings without allowing an earned run during his time with Dunedin.
Tiedemann would be promoted to High-A Vancouver on May 14th and continued to pitch well, amassing a 2.39 ERA through 37.2 innings, striking out 12.9 K/9 and walking batters at an impressive 2.9 BB/9. The southpaw has been effectively using his fastball, which sits in the mid-90s but can touch 98 MPH while mixing in his changeup and sliders to get runners out on both sides of the plate.
The Blue Jays have reportedly promoted top pitching prospect, Ricky Tiedemann, to Double-A New Hampshire once the All-Star festivities are complete.
Overall, Tiedemann has been effective against opposing batters and has already surpassed 100 strikeouts on the year while allowing only 34 hits and three home runs across both Single-A and High-A.

The Blue Jays prospect recently made the All-Stars Future’s Game roster and pitched well in his lone inning, recording three straight outs without allowing a hit on nine pitches. He was joined by teammate Yosver Zulueta at the game.
At 19 years old, Tiedemann is shooting up the farm system and is finding success on the MLB rankings, as he is currently ranked as the third top prospect on the Blue Jays and #63 on the Top 100 list after just 67.2 innings of professional baseball under his belt.
