Toronto Blue Jays: News from the Nest – Sunday, June 6

New Hampshire Fisher Cats – AA
Record: 10-18
Performing Well
Gabriel Moreno – C
Catcher Gabriel Moreno continues to perform well as the team enters the second month of baseball. Since May 23, Moreno has gone 9 for 31 in the box with one double, one triple, two home runs, and eight RBI. His 1.036 OPS is miles ahead of the rest of the roster while his defensive game has been impressive as well, throwing out eight base runners on 22 attempts while still boasting a 1.000% fielding percentage with zero passed balls.
Austin Martin – INF/OF
Since the last News from the Nest segment, Austin Martin has been seeing the ball very well at the plate, going 10 for 39 with two doubles, four RBI, and smashing his first home run in professional baseball back on June 3, a no-doubter over the left-field wall.
Austin Martin will not chase. His strike zone judgment is Vladdian.

Martin is starting to take pitches and gain more exposure at the AA level, with his eye at the plate coming around to the tune of nine walks in the past 11 games.
Andrew McInvale – RHP
Another pitcher to have a rough start to the year, Andrew McInvale has turned into one of the top bullpen arms as of late. Over his last four outings, he has only surrendered one earned run while striking out eight with only one walk while going 8.0 innings.
Rough Outings
Maximo Castillo – RHP
Starting pitcher Maximo Castillo is struggling as of late, having trouble going deep into games and keeping opposing players out of the hit column. Through five starts this year, Castillo has surrendered 12 earned runs through 18.1 innings, striking out 14 batters compared to the seven walks he has allowed. His last two starts have seen him go 5.2 innings combined while giving up six earned runs, four walks, and four strikeouts.
