Blue Jays: Marcus Stroman takes poke at Yankees pitching staff
Former Toronto Blue Jays hurler Marcus Stroma hurled a shot over the bow at the New York Yankees pitching staff.
Marcus Stroman took to Twitter to discuss the current state of the New York Yankees pitching staff. The soon-to-be free agent opined that besides Gerrit Cole, there is no current Yankee pitcher who will be anywhere in his league over the next 5-7 years.
The “Stro-Show” didn’t stop there continuing to state that their pitching always folds in the end and with their lineup and payroll the Yankees should be winning World Series’ left and right, yet they’re in a drought.
The Duke alumni did follow-up his original tweet stating that he overlooked Luis Severino and when he is healthy, he is unreal, one of his favorites. Stroman obviously hasn’t forgotten about Brian Cashman’s comments from 2019.

If you recall, the Blue Jays were in talks with the Yankees at the 2019 trade deadline, however, New York was unwilling to part with outfielder Clint Frazier and the talks fizzled out. Stroman was eventually dealt to the Mets in exchange for Anthony Kay and Simeon Woods Richardson.
Cashman then went on record to justify why he did not pull the trigger on the deal stating that he did not feel that Stroman was a difference-maker in the lineup. Obviously a slap in the face to Stroman who hails from the Empire State.
Stroman has been front and centre this week causing quite a stir on Twitter, a few days earlier he commented that he was thankful he did not sign a team-friendly deal with the Jays. The comments were met by overwhelming negativity across Blue Jays nation.
I still think that Stroman is going to get paid this offseason based on the lackluster crop of free agents, however, his list of potential suitors may be shrinking by the day. Marcus may have to step away from the keyboard for a while to ensure he doesn’t close any other doors.
At the end of the day, fire away at the Yankees, it makes for good entertainment and hey, it’s the Yankees.
