Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Roberto Osuna finally commented on the Brandon Taubman controversy that cost the Astros executive his job.

Roberto Osuna was thrust back into the spotlight when Taubman reportedly yelled “Thank God we got Osuna! I’m so f—ing glad we got Osuna!” in front of a number of female reporters. The comments were apparently directed at one reporter in particular.

Osuna had not spoken to the media following the incident until now when he suggested to the Sporting News that he had nothing to do with it and it kind of sucks.

"“I didn’t say anything, I wasn’t there. I don’t know what really happened that night. All I know is I got involved in something that I didn’t have anything to do with. It kind of sucks. But it is what it is, right?’’"

The 24-year old closer was shipped to Houston in the summer of 2018 following a domestic incident in Toronto where Osuna was charged with Assault. The hurler was not found guilty criminally as the victim was said to have moved back to Mexico although he did serve a 75 game suspension for his actions.

The Blue Jays organization was not in a position to keep Osuna and his baggage in the fold and happily shipped him to Houston when they came calling for his services.

Houston initially mishandled the Taubman comments which only made the situation take on a life of its own for Osuna and the Astros organization. The team would eventually fire Taubman and fall on their sword admitting they initially did not have all the facts.

Osuna is hopeful to put this latest bump in the road behind him so he can concentrate on the World Series, however, it is a little fitting he gets taken to task and the incident aired publicly once again seeing he skated the charges.
