According to Hector Gomez, a report has surfaced out of the Dominican Republic that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will reportedly make his MLB debut on Tuesday versus the San Francisco Giants.
The Vladimir Guerrero Jr. era may be finally poised for takeoff if reports are true, the timing would make sense as the Blue Jays open up a series at home versus the Giants. The promotion would surely create a spike in attendance and offset the return of fan favourite Kevin Pillar.
With service time no longer a factor, the promotion was just a matter of time but it will be nice to finally put the Vladdy promotion debate to bed once and for all. Vladdy has definitely earned it and has spanked Triple-A pitching since returning from an oblique injury.

Guerrero Jr. is hitting .412/.500/.824 with 11 hits including two round-trippers in five games with the Bisons this season. One of those homers left the stadium and landed in the parking lot at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket.
Vladdy would take over for the struggling Brandon Drury at third base if promoted on Tuesday. Drury has held his own defensively at the hot corner but struggled mightily at the dish striking out 27 times thus far on the young season.

If the Baseball Gods do in fact align and Vladdy does make his MLB debut on Tuesday, he will be facing a Giants squad with the identical 8-12 record as the Blue Jays. Neither team has announced their respective starting pitchers for the contest just yet but it would appear to be Jeff Samardzija‘s turn in the rotation.
We will wait and see if the Blue Jays confirm the reports but Hector Gomez is a very respected and connected sports journalist in the Dominican Republic so don’t be surprised if the reports are true. Better go secure your tickets for the game now folks, just in case.
