Blue Jays news and notes from the end of the 2018 winter meetings, including notes on a recently signed free-agent and an updated no-trade clause of a National League ace.

Greinke’s no-trade list includes Toronto

According to Zach Buchanan of the Athletic Arizona, Zack Greinke‘s update no-trade list includes the Toronto Blue Jays. Somewhat surprisingly, the list also includes division rival New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, as well as the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Lynn signs with Texas

Free-agent starter Lance Lynn, who was a free-agent of interest to the Blue Jays, has reportedly signed on with the Texas Rangers, reports Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. Lynn, 31, recently appeared in 11 games for the New York Yankees, tossing 54.1 frames to an ERA of 4.14.

Stroman reacts to Tulowitzki’s release

When Troy Tulowitzki was released earlier this week, one member of the current Toronto Blue Jays roster was quite dissapointed with the decision. As pitcher Marcus Stroman tweeted, Tulowitzki, who is now a free-agent, is “a winner”, and an “unreal clubhouse prescence”.

Romano goes to the Rangers

Canadian pitcher Jordan Romano, who was selected by the Chicago White Sox from the Blue Jays in the Rule 5 draft, was immediately flipped to the Texas Rangers, the team announced on Twitter shortly after the trade. Romano, 25, is now listed as the Rangers’ 23rd ranked prospect on MLB Pipeline’s list. He was dealt to the Rangers for cash considerations, according to the team release.

Blue Jays to present to Kikuchi

According to Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi, the Blue Jays intend to present to Japanese southpaw Yusei Kikuchi later in December when him and his agent, Scott Boras, meet with interested teams in Los Angeles. In 2018, the 27-year-old pitched to an ERA of 3.08 in 163.2 innings for the Saitama Seibu Lions of the Japan Pacific League.
