Blue Jays: David Price has opportunity to go from zero to playoff hero
Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher David Price has finally rid himself of his playoff demons and now has the opportunity to become a postseason hero in Boston.
David Price outduelled Justin Verlander in the ALCS clinching game versus Houston, solidified a victory in Game 2 of the World Series and now has the opportunity to crown the Red Sox Champions if he outpitches arguably the best pitcher in baseball.
Price will head to head opposite Clayton Kershaw tonight in Game 5 of the World Series with the Red Sox having a commanding 3 games to 1 lead. All this after Price was relegated back to the bullpen at the beginning of the postseason following a poor performance versus the New York Yankees. The 33-year old surrendered two homers for three earned runs in his only 1.2 innings of work in the ALDS.

Price surprisingly flipped the script and currently sports an impressive 2.70 ERA in the World Series after lifting the monkey off his back in the ALCS with a 3.38 ERA. The southpaw has notched a win in each of the ALCS and the World Series thus far and has the opportunity to win the biggest postseason game of the season tonight.
The Blue Jays acquired Price for the postseason push in 2015, however, he struggled in the postseason for the Jays accumulating a 7.20 ERA in the ALDS and a 5.40 ERA in the ALCS.
The Red Sox have another former Blue Jays player in Steve Pearce who has played a huge role in Boston’s playoff prowess. Pearce led the offensive attack in Game 4 notching a homer and a bases-clearing double propelling the Red Sox to a 9-6 victory.
