Stroman Partners With Holt Renfrew

Marcus Stroman was in town to launch a partnership with his clothing line at Holt Renfrew stores. The hurler continues to grow the “Height Doesn’t Measure Heart” brand and was at the Square One location in Mississauga for the launch.

Stroman also visited Sick Kids Hospital and took in the Toronto Raptors game with a familiar face.

Joey Bats Back In Town

Slugger Jose Bautista was also back in town and took in the Raptors/Mavericks contest with his old pal Stroman. The pair received a warm reception when introduced to the crowd. Bautista and Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Chris Archer attended the Holt Renfrew launch with Stroman.

Blue Jays Hire Hall Of Famer

The Blue Jays newest manager is a Hall of Fame inductee having already been enshrined in the International League Hall of Fame. Charlie Montoyo has 633 career wins at the helm of the Durham Bulls which led to his induction in 2016.

Three Minor Leaguers Elect Free Agency

Brandon Cumpton, Preston Guilmet and Luis Santos have all elected free agency according to Baseball America. No word on if the Jays will attempt to bring any of the trio back into the fold next season.

All three spent time with the big club in 2018: Santos 15 games, Guilmet 6 games, and Cumpton 1 game.

Smoak In Tough For Gold Glove

Justin Smoak was nominated for a Gold Glove along with Matt Olson and Mitch Moreland. The Blue Jays first baseman will be in tough for the honour as Olson is the clear-cut favourite. Regardless Mrs. Smoak appreciated the nomination.

Stroman Receives Golden Snub

Marcus Stroman will not defend his Gold Glove award from a season ago, the hurler was not nominated this time around. The AL nominees include Corey Kluber, Masahiro Tanaka, and Dallas Keuchel.
