The Toronto Blue Jays left the Winter Meetings failing to pull the trigger on a free agent signing or player acquisition however it appears the groundwork for future deals was laid according to the Jays brain trust.
Here is a look at the rumours and rumblings that surrounded the Blue Jays this past week in Orlando, Florida.
Lorenzo Cain
The Blue Jays are rumoured to be interested in the free agent outfielder according to Jon Heyman of Fan Rag Sports. Heyman believes the Jays would be willing to commit 4-years to the former Royal however they won’t be the only team bidding for his services.

Adam Duvall
According to Ben Nicholson Smith of Sportsnet the Blue Jays are casting a wide net in search of outfielders and checked in on Reds outfielder Adam Duvall. My colleague Brendan Pannikar was one of the first to cover the story and received a hat tip from Smith.
Many teams checking on #Reds' Billy Hamilton & Adam Duvall. #BlueJays, casting wide net in their search for OF, are believed to be among them (@JaysJournal mentioned Duvall).

Carlos Gonzalez
The Blue Jays are keeping an eye on the market for outfielder Carlos Gonzalez according to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN. The aging outfielder could ink a short-term deal in an attempt to re-establish his value after a down year in 2017.
Carlos Gonzalez is flying under the radar, but a lot of teams are interested because he's likely to sign a short-term deal to re-establish his value. #SFGiants, #Royals, #Athletics, #Rays and #BlueJays are among the teams believed to be keeping an eye on him.

Avisail Garcia
Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported yesterday the Blue Jays spoke to the White Sox about acquiring outfielder Avisail Garcia. The outfielder is coming off a career year so it’s safe to assume he won’t come cheap.

Marcell Ozuna
The Jays were one of a number of teams speaking to the Marlins about Marcell Ozuna who was eventually shipped out of Miami to St. Louis.
Steve Phillips of TSN later reported the Marlins requested both Vladdy Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette in return for Ozuna. Ya, no thanks.
Count the Rockies, Blue Jays and Rangers - along with Cardinals and Nationals- expressing interest in Marcell Ozuna.

Josh Donaldson
The St. Louis Cardinals are borderline harassing the Jays by the sounds of it in their attempt to land Josh Donaldson. According to Ken Rosenthal, the Jays are still remaining strong fending off possible suitors.
#STLCards keep pushing for Donaldson, sources tell The Athletic. #BlueJays remain disinclined to move Donaldson, planning to compete in 2018. Asking price high. No indication deal is close.
