Your Blue Jays Morning Brew for Wednesday, October 25th features updates on Marcus Stroman, Ryan Goins, Kevin Pillar and much more.

As the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros kicked off Game One of the World Series last night at Chavez Ravine yesterday also marked the 25th anniversary of the Toronto Blue Jays franchise first Championship and the first ever baseball title north of the border.

The pitching duel between Clayton Kershaw and Dallas Keuchel was the fastest World Series game at 2:28 since Game four of the 1992 World Series between the Blue Jays and the Atlanta Braves. The Jays reigned victorious 2-1 in that 2:21 contest backed by the pitching performances of Jimmy Key, Duane Ward, and Tom Henke.

Stroman And Goins Take Vacation

Marcus Stroman and Ryan Goins along with their pal Ryan Bahnsen are vacationing in Paris this week as the lads try and unwind after a long season. The Stro-Stro tweeted out a flick of the trio titled “Paris Proper” and they undoubtedly prepared for a night out on the town. Stroman also tweeted about the amazing diversity and different vibe in Paris.

Pillar Nominated For Heart & Hustle Award

Kevin Pillar was one of 30 players nominated for the award back in July that recognizes passion, spirit, and tradition of the game. The award is voted on by former players and will be formally announced on the 14th of November.

Roy Halladay took home the honour in 2010 after his first season with the Philadelphia Phillies. Hopefully the voters with cast their respective vote “Superman’s” way this time around. Best of luck Kevin.

Gibby On Wilner PreGame Show

Manager John Gibbons took some time away from nachos and margaritas to appear on Mike Wilner’s Postseason Pregame Show last night. The skipper even fielded calls from the listeners and is definitely worth a listen.

Hale Being Overlooked Once Again

A great read from Steve Buffery of the Toronto Sun on Blue Jays bench coach DeMarlo Hale and his difficulty obtaining a managerial position. John Gibbons throws nothing but compliments Hale’s way as he vouches for his pal.

That will conclude another edition of the Morning Brew as we get one step closer to the free agency as the offseason hot stove begins to warm.
