Blue Jays’ Bo Bichette wins player of month honours and gets promoted
Toronto Blue Jays farmhand Bo Bichette is making this look way too easy thus far in his professional career as the 19-year old continues to take home accolades and impress along the way.
According to an official media release from the MILB, Lansing Lugnuts shortstop Bo Bichette has been named the Midwest League Player of the Month for June. Bichette absolutely destroyed minor league pitching while once again putting up video game numbers for the month of June.
In the month of June, Bichette batted .421 with 40 hits, 16 of them being for extra bases including 12 doubles while compiling a whopping 1.198 OPS along the way. Bichette currently leads the minors and majors with a .384 batting average thus far this season.
Along with the monthly honour, it was announced last night that both Bichette and his teammate Vladimir Guerrero Jr. would be receiving their long-awaited promotion to Single-A Dunedin following the Futures Game at the All-Star Game festivities.
Guerrero Jr. has been equally impressive this season but somewhat overshadowed by the emergence of Bo.
Vladdy Jr. has 85 hits including 7 home runs and 6 stolen bases while slashing .316/.409/.480 in 71 games with the Lugnuts this season. The tandem of Vladdy and Bo has Blue Jays fans drooling for 2020 to arrive sooner than later, however, even more, remarkable is both superstars in the making are still just mere teenagers.

The duo will join Bradley Jones in Dunedin who formed an offensive triple threat earlier in the season in Lansing. Jones was the first to get promoted to the baby Jays but has struggled with the stick since leaving the Lugnuts.
Jones is currently slashing an uninspiring .156/ .206/.219 with one home run in 17 games with Dunedin. Previously, he had been raking in Lansing hitting .326 with 9 homers in 49 contests. Perhaps his two Lansing buddies can get him out of his funk with the bat upon their arrival.

Congrats to both Bo and Vladdy as they continue their climb to the majors.
