Blue Jays MiLB recap – Pitching shuts down oppositions
Jays Journal takes its daily look into the Toronto Blue Jays Minor League system. The Bisons shut out the Iron Pigs and Borucki throws a gem.
Buffalo Bisons vs Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs (Phillies)
4-0 Win
The Bisons shook off the tough loss from Tuesday quickly as they powered up in this one. At the plate a big two run single by Rowdy Tellez capped off a three run 3rd inning. Tellez destroyed a hip high fastball down the line to score Ian Parmley and Steve Pearce.
The inning was started with back to back singles and a hit by pitch. Christian Lopes scored the first run on a wild pitch prior to the Tellez single. The Herd was able to tag on a 4th run in the 6th with a single off the bat of Steve Pearce, driving in Shane Opitz. Christian Lopes went 3-3 with a double in this one as well.
TJ House owned the mound for the Herd in this one. He pitched six innings of shut out baseball as he silenced the first place Iron Pigs. He allowed five hits and a walk during the game, but had his control working. This has been the difference for House and he used that to strike out five batters during the outing. Matt Dermody got into the game and did not allow a run while recording five outs. Leonel Campos finished the game and got in 1.1 innings of work without allowing a hit but walked two batters.
Cesar Valdez will get the start to close out the series on Thursday.
MVB – TJ House 6 IP, 5 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk, 5 K’s
New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Richmond Flying Squirrels (Giants)
Rain Out
The rain spoiled the mood in New Hampshire Wednesday night as the game has been moved to Thursday. The Fisher Cats will play a double header starting in the late afternoon. Conner Greene will get the start in game one. Greene has had some rough outings of late, but has still been battling through innings. Green has pitched at least five innings in all but one start and has not allowed more then four runs in a start. Francisco Rios will get the start in game 2 and has been slowly stretching out his innings. He pitched three innings in his last start and allowed just one hit.
Dunedin Blue Jays at Palm Beach Cardinals
0-1 Loss
What a night for Ryan Borucki on the mound in this one. The D-Jays would unfortunately lose on an error that led to the only run of the ball game. Borucki had his best outing of the season Wednesday, and effectively turned a frown upside down after throwing 4.2 innings while allowing 7 earned runs in his previous start. In this start he was masterful as he baffled hitters for 7 innings. He allowed just four hits and a walk, while tying his season high in strikeouts with 10. Daniel Young got in an inning of work and pitched a perfect 8th inning.

Ryan Helsley matched Borucki on the mound as he held the D-Jays to just two hits for 6.2 innings. Things did not get much better from there as the D-Jays were unable to dig in against the solid pitching of the Cards. The Cards bullpen continues to cruise and allowed just two more hits to the Jays. In the first two games of the series the D-Jays out scored the Cards 14-2, but the hard-hitting lumber was left in the bat rack in this contest.
Jordan Romano will get the ball to finish the series against the Cardinals. He enters tomorrow’s game on a four start streak in which he has not allowed more then one earned run and struck out at least five batters.
MVDJ – Ryan Borucki 7 IP, 4 hits, 0 earned runs, 1 walk, 10 K’s
Lansing Lugnuts at South Bend Cubs

The teams will play a double header on Thursday evening, with Yennsy Diaz getting the start in game two. The series will come to a close after the double dip, and the Lugnuts then head home to take on the first place West Michigan White Caps.
