Blue Jays receive good news on Devon Travis injury
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis was the recipient of a 96 mph fastball to the left hand from New York Yankees pitcher Luis Severino that forced him to leave the game this afternoon.
Devon Travis remained in the game but was visibly favouring his left hand when he attempted to slide back into third base later in the inning. Travis was eventually replaced by Ryan Goins as Devo went to have the hand examined by the Jays medical staff.
Travis has been snakebitten during his tenure with the Blue Jays with an assortment of ailments and initially, this did not look like the prognosis would be a positive one.
However, the Jays are reporting that the X-rays have come back negative and Travis is considered day to day.
It appears the Blue Jays may have dodged a bullet as they are finally close to being completely healthy. The only two regulars who remain shelved are pitcher Aaron Sanchez and Steve Pearce with reports that Sanchez is going to start throwing this week as he recovers from blister issues on his throwing hand.

The loss of Travis would be devastating to the Jays offence as Travis has been one of the hottest hitters in the majors for the month of May and an extra base machine. Travis is tied for second in the majors with 18 doubles on the season only behind Rockies slugger Nolan Arenado who has 19.
The Blue Jays have finally begun to climb some ground in the AL East and need all hands on deck to continue the trek to the top of the division.

Great win and an even better prognosis for the Jays and Travis, hopefully, Devo can get back to full health in the next couple days once the swelling subsides and pick up where he left off.
