4-1 Win

A pair of solo bombs gave Francisco Rios a solid foundation to run with Monday evening. Rios was incredible as he allowed just 1 unearned run through 7 innings of work. Rios allowed 8 hits and a walk while striking out 4. This was his 5th start of the season and he entered the game with a 2.53 ERA. That number will be dropping after this phenomenal start. Chris Rowley would pitch the remaining 2 innings and pick up the save.

Ryan McBroom started things off with a solo home run in the 2nd inning. He has now gone deep in back to back games. McBroom finished the night with a 2-4 performance and scored 2 runs. Richard Urena also went big fly as he hit his first of the season. Harold Ramirez and Emilio Guerrero had a pair of hits each and drove in a run. The offense collected 8 hits and capitalized on enough to give Rios the win in this one.

Jon Harris will have a tough act to follow after the start Rios had Monday but he will look to find his form Tuesday evening against the Fightin Phils.

Jansen continues to be a hitting machine and went 2-4 in this one and scored twice. Juan Kelly drove in Jansen in the big 3rd inning. Kelly drove in a pair of RBI’s during the game on a double. Lane Thomas also drove in a pair during the inning on a single.

T.J. Zeuch had an excellent start in this one as he threw 5.1 innings allowing a pair of runs. He allowed 7 hits, 0 walks, and struck out 6. Daniel Young would record 4 outs as well but allowed the Yankees to creep back into the game. Andrew Case came on and cooled down the comeback to pick up the save.
