Your Toronto Blue Jays news and notes for Tuesday, March 28, 2017.
Sanchez Blister Issue
Aaron Sanchez popped a blister on his fingers during his start versus the Philadelphia Phillies. Something to keep an eye on as opening day looms. This is old hat for Sanchez who suffered through a blister issue in September of last season that he was able to overcome.
Bad News For Bo Schultz
The reliever returned to New York to have his injured elbow accessed by a doctor. The initial prognosis does not sound encouraging as elbow surgery may be on the horizon for Bo Schultz who was bidding for a spot in the Blue Jays bullpen.
Jose Bautista And Devon Travis Not Making Trip to “La Belle Province”
Fans expecting to get a look at Jose Bautista and Devon Travis this weekend in Montreal will miss out as both players will not be making the trek to Montreal. The Jays have decided to keep Travis back in Florida rather than have the second-baseman play on the astroturf at Olympic Stadium. Probably the smart move seeing he is nearly fully recovered from his knee injury.
Bautista will be absent to attend his brother’s wedding on the weekend, I guess we can give Joey Bats a mulligan for missing the Montreal series for a family event. Unsure if the slugger will be returning to the Dominican Republic for the nuptials or if it is being held stateside.
Jose Bautista won't be going to Montreal (brother's wedding), nor will Devon Travis to keep him off the Big O turf (will play in Florida).

Latos To Report
It was reported earlier yesterday that Mat Latos would not break camp with the Blue Jays out of spring training. Speculation is that Latos will accept the assignment to Buffalo where he will act as valuable rotation depth should an injury in the starting five arise. Nice to see he is sticking around.
