Buffalo Bisons @ Rochester Red Wings (Loss 3-8)

An early strike and another poor pitching performance by the Bisons led to a Red Wings win.  Chad Leroux got the ball for the Herd and allowed four runs right of the bat.  The first inning outburst by the Red Wings was capped off by a Adam Walker 2-run homer.  Leroux settled in and pitched shutout ball until the 6th where another 2 Red Wings were scored.

Leroux finished the inning but allowed six earned runs on eight hits while striking out three.  Leroux did not allow a walk so good hitting was what beat him Friday.  Bobby Korecky came on in the 7th and faced similar issues.  Two runs (1 Earned) scored over the remaining two innings kept the Bisons out of competition.  The two Bisons pitchers allowed 13 hits during the game for seven earned runs with 0 walks.  The Red Wings bats were just hard to miss during the game.

Pitching Grade – D+

More from Toronto Blue Jays Prospects

The Bisons had an equally difficult evening at the plate.  They were able to get seven hits but not enough offense to mount the huge comeback.  Matt Dominguez remains smoking hot with the stick as he blistered his second homer of the season.  The 2-run homer came in the 8th but was a little to late to get the Bisons back into the game.  Dominguez has now hit safely in the past six games going 12-23 in that span.  Jesus Montero collected another multi hit game as he went 2-4 with a run scored.  Montero is on an 8-game hitting streak as well.  He continues to be a huge threat in the Herd attack.  David Adams and Casey Kotchman collected a double each for the only other extra base hits during the game.  The offense did not receive any extra help from the Wings pitchers Friday either as they only issued 2 free passes while striking out 7.

Offensive Grade – C+

Line of the game – Matt Dominguez 1-4 with a 2 run homer
