Domincan Summer League Blue Jays

Sam Buelens, 20-yrs-old

Talk about an interesting story, Sam Buelens comes to the Blue Jays from the Baseball hotbed of Belgium. Buelens turns 20 on December 27th. Sam played primarily CF with 30 GP. He registered 2 OF assists, and no errors, while generating a low 1.47 RangeFactor.

Our Belgian prospect produced at league average level with .317 wOBA and 87 wRC+ while showing no power (.020 ISO).

Overall Sam impresses with his speed and strike zone control, hitting .232/.347/.253 with a .600OPS, 2 doubles, 10RBI, 20SB, 10.7BB%, 18.0K%, and .295BABIP.

Launching pad- Sam should get a chance in the GCL.

Victor Figuereo, 18-yrs-old

Victor saw limited action in 2015, playing all 17 games in CF. He registered 3 assists, an error, while posting 1.82 RangeFactor and .969 Fld%.

Figuereo didn’t do much on the offensive side with .267 wOBA and 58 wRC+, while showing some power with a .125 ISO.

Overall Victor Figuereo hit only .146/.255/.271 with .525 OPS, no doubles or triples, 2HR, 6RBI, 12.7BB%, 43.6K% and a .227BABIP.

Cristian Peguero, 20-yrs-old

In 53 games, Cristian played 45 in CF posting a 1.84 RangeFactor and .956Fld% while registering 2 outfield assists and committing 3 errors.

Peguero had a good year at the plate with a .367 wOBA and 116 wRC+, both above average.

Overall Cristian hit .277/.372/.361 with a .733OPS, 5 doubles, 3 triples, a HR, 20RBI, 10.3BB%, 21.6K%, 6SB, and .366BABIP.
