Leones del Escogido

Dalton Pompey

In 6 games Pompey hit .143 with 3 hits in 23 AB’s. He hasn’t played since November 6th, so he’s likely not going to return.

Mexico

Naranjeros de Hermosillo

Jorge Flores

In 36 games, Flores is hitting .243/.362/.271 with a .633 OPS. In the past week, Flores has really struggled to get things going in the right direction, going 3-for-30 (.100BA), but he continues to draw walks (7 BB).

Overall, Flores continues to show little power (3 doubles, no triples, and no home runs), poor base stealing instincts (2-for-7) and an advanced approach at the plate with 17 BB and 19 K’s.

Tomateros de Culiacan

Francisco Rios

Rios continues to struggle this off-season with 2 wins, a loss, 6.95 ERA, 2 HR allowed, 11 BB, and 16 K’s in 22 IP. After starting his first 2 games, Rios was banished to the BP to work things out. After not allowing a run 4 outings (7.2IP) and striking out 6, Rios has allowed 7 runs over his past 4 outings.

Venezuela

Bravos de Margarita

Casey Lawrence

Lawrence is 1-2 with 3.27 ERA over 7 starts (33IP). He has issued 10 walks, struck out 21, held opponents to .299 BA, and generated 1.96 GO/AO.

Lawrence won his last start going 6.2 innings, allowing 3 hits, no runs, one walk and 7 K’s.

Caribes de Anzoategui

Jonathan Torres

The tough LHP continues to roll with a 1-0 record and 4.00 ERA while being used primarily against LHB. Torres allowed a run on a hit and a walk in his last outing on November 27th. Prior to that outing, Torres had not allowed a run 6 outings.

Overall, Torres has appeared in 16 games, walking 4 and striking out 9, while holding a 0.86 GO/AO. He’s been lucky so far this off-season allowing opponents to hit .371 against his.

Puerto Rico

AKA- Liga de Beisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente

Cangrejeros de Santurce

A.J. Jimenez

The one injury-prone catcher is hitting .250 over 3 games with the Crabbers. He’s not seeing much game action only playing on Oct 30th, Nov 1st and Nov 18th.

Maybe he’s injured.

Gigantes de Carolina

Jose Espada

The promising 2015 draft pick hasn’t pitched since November 3rd. He is 0-1 with 9.00ERA in 2 games, allowing 5 runs (3 ER), 4 BB, and 3 K’s.

Chris Smith

Smith has a 0-1 record with a 0.93ERA in 9 RP appearances. Smith has only walked 2 and struck out 10 in 9.2IP of relief. Opponents are getting the ball in the air against him (0.46 GO/AO) but not making good contact (.200 BA).

Smith hasn’t allowed an earned since his first outing on Oct 30th when he allowed an home run.
