    Game Notes:

    • Edwin Encarnacion has extended his hit streak to 19 games. He is now only 2 shy for the longest in the majors behind teammate Troy Tulowitzki. Edwin has been able to raise his average from .234 all the way to .265.
    • The defense was needed today and they picked up key double plays. When the Angels started to get something going the double play was there 3 times to end key innings.
    • After the 1st inning R.A. Dickey went 5 shutout innings allowing only 5 hits.
    • Ben Revere has been red hot at the bottom of the line up. He picked up 2 more hits today and is making a strong case to be moved up in the order.
    • The Blue Jays now have 23 games in which they scored 9 or more runs.
    • This series was the most runs the Blue Jays have scored in a 3 game series. They were able to put up a total of 35 runs.
    • Today’s win put the Blue Jays a half game above the Yankees for the lead in the AL East.

    Grades:

A+. Again today the Blue Jays were able to get to the Angels pitching. The offense did not slow down one bit today as they picked up 12 runs on 17 hits. Edwin Encarnacion had yet another good day at the plate picking up 4 hits, 4 RBI, 2 R, and a HR. Jose Bautista, Troy Tulowitzki, Kevin Pillar, Josh Donaldson, and Ben Revere also picked up multiple hits.. Game Ball. Edwin Encarnacion. OFFENSE

    C. Well, today showed both sides of the knuckle ball. The Angels exploded for 5 runs in the 1st inning on Dickey. Then he flipped a switch and shut down the Angels offense for 5 shutout innings after that. While his final line isn’t that pretty because of the first inning he did pick up the win. The said line was 6 IP, 11 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, and 1 K.  . . R.A. Dickey. STARTING PITCHER

A+. Again the bullpen had a good lead to work with when they were needed. It didn’t matter as they shut the door. Brett Cecil, Aaron Sanchez, and Roberto Osuna all combined for 3 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, and 4 K. . Game Ball. Roberto Osuna. BULLPEN
