Dunedin Blue Jays vs Daytona Tortugas (Loss 3-10)
Sean Reid-Foley got off to a rough start then was unable to work out of trouble in the 4th inning. Battling his control Reid-Foley walked 3 batters and allowed 4 runs on 4 hits. Brad Allen came on and tossed 3 innings but also allowed 2 runs and had control issues. He also walked 3 batters in nearly the same amount of innings. Matt Dermody was the last victim of the Tortugas lineup as he also was roughed up for 4 runs in the losing effort. The Tortugas hot bats just ripped right through the D-Jay’s pitching staff Wednesday.
The offense just couldn’t get it started against Tortugas starter Jackson Stephens they were only able to manage 2 hits. They were able to only manage 4 base runners period off of Stephens. Anthony Alford managed to steal a base after collecting a single. That was his 10th steal of the season. The D-Jay’s pushed hard in the late innings and scavenged 3 runs together but it was to late by then. The final of 10-3 would stick. J.D. Davis and Andy Fermin collected 2 hits and an RBI each.
