Game 3: Sonny Gray (12-4, 2.06 ERA) vs R.A. Dickey (6-10, 3.93 ERA)

This could be the game that sends kids screaming for the doors. It is a day game so be sure to let the kids know Sonny Gray will be taking the mound on this afternoon. Why let the kids know? Because regardless if you are a baseball fan you pay to watch the best and sometimes the best is on the other side. The 1st rounder out of Vanderbilt has come as advertised. 3 plus pitches and the knack for knowing how to use them to his advantage. His WHIP is an amazing 0.96 and his ERA keeps dropping to the point where it may be expected he finish the season with an ERA under 2. Hutch, here is your main nemesis for the Cy Young Award (tongue so so firmly planted in cheek).

Trying to slow the Gray train down will be another soft tosser who uses deception rather than pinpoint control to get the desired results. Dickey started out the year very rough but the further into the season we go, the more quality starts we see adding up next to Dickey. He didn’t start out too hot this season but check out these post all-star game numbers: 3-0, 0.99 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and opp BAA of .183 in 5 starts. He has morphed from mediocre to the pitcher the Jays hoped for a couple seasons ago when they traded for him. This is going to be a fantastic pitching match up.
