Dunedin Blue Jays vs Daytona Tortugas (Win 3-2)
Solid pitching and one big inning proved to be enough for the D-Jay’s Monday. Shane Dawson got things going and had a decent outing. Only allowing 6 hits and 2 earned runs. It seemed like Dawson was cruising until Joe Hudson knocked a ball over the left field wall in the 3rd. After turning it on after the home run Dawson ran into trouble in the 6th which he could not escape. He recorded the first out and allowed a pair of singles and walked a batter to load the bases. Arik Sikula then came on and walked the first batter he faced to allow the second Tortugas run. Sikula would then record a strikeout and a pop out to finish off the inning and preserve the lead. Sikula would pitch a scoreless 2 innings to record a hold and then give way to closer Wil Browning to record a 5 out save in which he struck out 3.
The 3 run 4th inning proved to be enough as the D-Jay’s would go on to win 3-2. L.B. Dantzler walked to start off the bottom of the 4th. After Matt Dean struck out Andy Fermin walked to put runners on first and second. The Runners advanced on a Keury Mella balk which lead to yet another walk to Derrick Loveless. Now with the bases loaded Boomer Collins picks up a hard RBI as he gets drilled with a pitch. With the bases still loaded Mike Reeves singles up the middle to score Fermin and Loveless. This is would be the total for the night. 3 hits usually doesn’t win you to many games but the D-Jay’s patience at the plate paid off big Monday.
Line of the game
Mike Reeves 1-3 with 2 RBIs

An early lead vanished as the Canadians implode for 3 runs in the last 2 innings. Evan Smith pitched a solid 7 innings but he probably should have been taken out after the 7th inning. After pitching 7 dominant innings Smith allowed a solo home run to Ryan Uhl to lead off the 8th. This would start the rally and knocked Smith out of the game. Bob Wheatley would replace him and the Canadians would proceed to allow 2 more runs in the 9th to doom themselves to the loss.
On offense the C’s only managed 5 hits but they were able to string 3 singles together in the 3rd. The 3 singles along with some excellent base running allowed the C’s to grab a pair of runs. This would be the end of the offensive showing unfortunately as the C’s just couldn’t keep it up. Aqua Sox pitchers held them in check and also did not walk many batters. 7 total base runners is just not enough to put a big number up on the score board.
Line of the game
Evan Smith 7 innings pitched, 8 hit, 2 earned runs, 1 walk, 2 strike outs
