Lansing improved to 65-47 and received a sterling performance from Starlyn Suriel (8-6 3.45ERA). Suriel mowed through the Snappers, striking out 12. His only blemish came in the form of a 1st inning lead off home run off the bat of Joe Bennie. Starlyn would only allow one more hit and one walk over his 6.1IP of work. Colton Turner and Carlos Ramirez (SV 6) stumbled through the next 2.2 inning, allowing 4 runs on 4 hits.

Josh Almonte (3/4, 2 R) and D.J. Davis (#12) (1/5) hit solo home runs for the Lugnuts and Almonte added his 9th stolen base. Jason Leblebijian (2/4) drove in 3 runs. Chris Carlson (2/5) and Christian Vazquez (1/4) each collected RBI’s. Leblebijian also had 2 doubles.

Andrew Case (1-1, 2.61 ERA) pitched a clean 1.1 innings of relief and credited with the win after the C’s scored two 8th inning runs. Francisco Rios struck out 9 and held the Indians to one run on two hits. Daniel Young lowered his ERA from 8.53 to 7.53 after pitching 1.2 innings of shutout relief.

Carl Wise (#21) had 3 hits and 3 RBI for the C’s. He also hit his 6th double. Gunnar Heidt had 2 hits, a run, and swiped his 15th base. The C’s were 2-for-9 with RISP.

Bluefield dropped to 18-26 with this blow out. DJ McKnight, and Christian Williams collected 2-hits each. Williams had two doubles and increased hit batting average to .225 from .216 after going hitless in the last 4 games. Rodrigo Orozco had the big blow for Bluefield with his 3rd homerun and drove in 2 RBI.
Dan Lietz had a day to forget, allowing 4 runs to cross without getting an out. Starter Dalton Rodriguez allowed 5 runs, 2 HR, and 7 hits through 4 innings. Zach Rodgers allowed one run in his 2 innings and Joe Claver pitched two no-hit innings to close out the game.

The Blue Jays were held to 2 runs on 3 hits. Jake Thomas, Levi Scott, and Bryan Lizardo collected the hits for the Jays. Thomas walked 3 times and stole his 5th base. Lizardo drove in the clubs only 2 runs, but also committed his 4th error.
The Jays received quality performances from Patrick Murphy, Scott Silverstein, and Nate Abel, but Guadalupe Chavez and Gunner Eastman struggled. Chavez, just 17 years-old, struggled in his first game with the GCL Blue Jays after his promotion from the DSL, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits. He only allowed one walk and struck out 4. Gunner couldn’t find the strike zone and walked 4, but only allowed one run.

Orioles 2
Jairo Rosario and Jonthan Torres (W 1-0, 0.00ERA) combined to 4-hit the Orioles DSL team. Combined they walked 4 and struck out 8, while Rosario surrendering the Blue Jays only 2 runs.
Yorman Rodriguez (3/5) drove in 3 RBI and hit his 5th triple. Francisco Rodriguez, Kevin Vicuna, and Sterling Guzman collected two hits each, with Francisco and Sterling chipping in with their 6th and 8th stolen bases respectively.
